Hi ,
Have you recently bought a new home and the gorgeous garden that you fell in love with has suddenly become a jungle? Or are you
planning to sell, and are wondering how to make the garden more presentable without creating a whole new landscape?
Now is the time to start tackling the spring garden chores while the soil is still soft and manageable, the garden-munching insects haven't ravaged everything yet, and the intense heat
hasn't set in.
These 7 tasks will get your garden under control and looking its best:
- Pull out any weeds while the ground is still soft enough to do so easily. Spray stubborn
or difficult weeds with natural weedkiller by using a mix of white vinegar, Epsom salts and a squirt of doTERRA dish soap.
- Remove all dead tree debris and leaf litter from around the garden and in the gutters before the fire season starts.
- Give your irrigation system a test run to check all components are working effectively before a burst of hot weather.
- Prune dead wood from shrubs and trees to encourage new growth.
- Spray any plants infested with aphids or insects with a natural product such as Eco Oil Organic Garden Botanical Oil.
- Weed, feed and aerate the lawn. Don't mow for a week after applying a weed and feed product.
- Feed the plants and add fresh mulch and compost to the garden
beds - but be sure to weed them first!
Don't forget to be slip on a hat and be sun-safe when you head out into the sunny garden, and tackle the jobs in bite-sized pieces to save your back and knees - don't try to do everything in one day.
