Hi ,
Are you ready for Christmas? It arrives the same
time every year so we should be organised, but somehow we often find ourselves in a last-minute panic. See how you measure up against our Christmas-Ready Check List:
1. Outdoor Living Areas
If you're planning on having the whole clan over for Christmas lunch outdoors, make sure you have watered the lawn so it looks lush and ready for family activities, and hose down your outdoor furniture and patio area so it feels fresh and inviting!
Don't forget to clean the barbecue and have a full or spare gas bottle ready, and have organise Christmas-themed tableware and decorations for a festive outdoor setting.
2. Fridge Space
At Christmas you need all the fridge space you can get, so before the big day give your fridge a thorough clean-out.
Throw out anything passed its use-by date and clean
the fridge shelves and storage compartments. Remember to defrost the freezer and fill up plenty of ice cube trays.
3. Batteries
If there will be kids at your house this
Christmas, you need batteries! Buy batteries in a range of sizes to be sure there are no tears or tantrums on Christmas morning.
4. Christmas Gifts
Have you made a list of all the presents you need to buy and checked it twice? If not, do it now! And buy a couple of spare gifts like festive Xmas biscuits or scented candles for any unexpected guests on the day.
5. Christmas Menu Shopping List
Christmas is all about the food! Well, and the drink. And the pressies… But mostly the food. Using your pre-planned Christmas Day food menu, write a detailed shopping list. Include things such as Xmas napkins, table decorations and bon-bons.
Check how many guests you’ll have, and buy more cutlery, glassware and crockery if you need to. And... don't forget to stock up with plenty of cool drinks!
Once
you’ve ticked these things off your list, you’ll feel relaxed and ready to enjoy a perfect Christmas Day at home in Melbourne.
